Stage 4 Cancer: Don't Make the Same Mistakes I Did.
Просмотров 301 тыс.7 месяцев назад
My name is Tammy Skinner Pugh. I'm Jerry Skinners daughter. I lost my husband Dave to Stage 4 small cell lung cancer October 11th of this year. It's been devastating to all of us. You are in a desert. You know someone is on their way across the desert to destroy you. You have two choices. 1. Go into a cave. Sit there in the darkness and wait for death. 2. Start your journey across the desert to...

Skineeeeer! That was very beautiful to watch. You paid Mr Sampson a great honour with your documentary. I just watched the movie "one flew over the cockoo's nest" again and the ending scene, where Sonny's character throws the sink through the window to escape the mental institution is one of the most beautiful scenes in movie history! This same scene has even been quoted by the simpsons, starring barney as Chief ^^

I just lost my husband to colon cancer after 2 years of fighting a stage 4 diagnosis. Yes you have to pay attention to what they do, google things, ask questions, push for some care, for feeding him, giving him his antibiotics, or heart medecine; keeping him alert and awake as much as possible, holding off the dilaudid or morphine, the methadone , sometimes the epilepsy medicine, cause they may come with a smile and talk to you about "Comfort, comfort care" when what they mean is "let him die." He will eventually die like all of us one day, but he will leave his time allowed to him by God, not one minute before that because of bad care. I thank the medical personal for their care but trust doesn't exclude me challenging them on what they are doing. They will fight for the patient untill they decide there is no more hope, then they seem to hasten his death. Then, you hav to say NO! He may be a patient among many for them, but he is My husband, the father of my children, so he means MORE to me. Never leave his side.

I was 10 years old when Bonanza came on the tv scene. I fell madly in love with Michael Landon. I remember crying over him because I knew we'd never marry. Lol! A childhood crush. I think we'll see him in Heaven.

Please know that if you are interested in Mr. Hall's life, he did write an autobiography called "The Storyteller's Nashville". You don't have to be a PhD in psychology to see that he ALWAYS seemed to have suffered with depression to some degree. In fact, in the late 1960s or early 1970s, he was on Rx used at that time as an anti-depressant. His mother died from a very painful cancer when was 12 or 13. His father almost died from a hunting accident caused by an uncle; and his mentor died (TB?). All within a very short period of time. He had to drop out of school at age 15 and go to work to support the family. A brother was KIA in Korea. Another brother was badly wounded in that same war. He joined the ARMY to complete his education. (He did get his GED.) I have read in the comments that his brother Hellman killed himself. I cannot prove or disprove this. I do know that he promoted his brother's songwriting all the time. His father, an ordained Baptist Minister, died in the hospital from a series of MIs (myocardial infarctions). He did spend time with his son, Dean, and was very clearly proud of him. (Who wouldn't be!) Mr. Hall constantly stated that he "couldn't make it without Dixie". I believe that. She was his anchor. Cronic illnesses also play a major part the development or worsening of depression, as does the feeling of isolation. I believe that Mr. Hall was a genius, as was Dixie. Together they wrote thousands of songs, most of which have never been recorded. Their lives deserve a truly impartial, scholarly biography, due to the tremendous contributions that both made. Oh, and there was never a Lincoln Park Inn. It was the Capital Inn per Bobby Bare. Completely make up by Tom T Hall. I know that this is just a very short bio; and I do thank you for the effort.

What I understand Towhead saw both Buford & Dewitt Dawson before he died Dewitt's name has been mentioned being behind both Buford & Pauline's deaths. there is no evidence to that just rumors. Kirksey Nix still refuses to talk there is reason to believe that he might know something what happen to Pauline.

1:09 you had to get a POA for him. Medical staff is suppossed to honor a Living Will, with a health care surrogate named. Did he have a living Will, and they didn't honor it? If so, very concerning. Thank you so much for telling your story. It's distressing to hear but important for others to know. You and your family did not deserve anything you went thru. Peace
